6/6/10

The Owl Keeper by Christine Brodien-Jones giveaway ends 7/15. CLOSED

WINNER IS CASS

When you are allergic to sunlight nighttime becomes your friend. Maxwell Unger spends a lot of his time in the forest visiting his owl tree to be with his friend,  silver owl. He also meets a redheaded girl named Rose there, and they both enjoy each other’s company and love of nature, especially when it's dark outside.
The government where Max lives is called “High Echelon”, and it is their goal to wipe out independent thought throughout the land. Things become personal for Max when he discovers that there is a plan specifically directed at him, one that he must thwart or lose his identity.
This is an eerie and ominous world they live in, and not much time passes before it becomes imperative for Max and Rose to try and find the elusive (perhaps mythological) Owl Keeper. It is said The Owl Keeper will watch over silver owls and protect the land and all its inhabitants. This is their only chance to survive.
The Owl Keeper is the story of an inexperienced boy who learns that by standing up to challenges and defeating adversaries one becomes more courageous, maybe even heroic. There is wonderful and vivid imagery on every page and your attention is held throughout. Highly Recommend.
